By ryan , March 20, in Logic Pro. Hey guys, I just got a Digi and I’m having a hard time getting it to work properly with Logic.

It detects the inputs and they work, but there’s latency and the Digi seems to be in this dumb mode where it can’t do anything but be an input. You have to go to the Digi website to see which drivers to use for the Digi if you’re using Logic 9 under Leopard or Snow Leopard.

Granted, I’ve only owned M-Audio interfaces but, they are essentially the same protocol and I’ve never had issues- even without driver updates and moving from Tiger to Leopard to Snow I think I’m just gonna sell it. Any reccomendations on something I could get with as good or better preamps? And at least 8 of them? I didn’t know the Digi only had 4 when I got it– blast! Be dead sure you have removed every smidge of the Digi core audio and MIDI drivers before installing a new interface.

Lest you be cursing the day you were born! I didn’t install anything, but I had an MBOX before that so when I plugged it in it worked fine with protools with no additional drivers.

In fact for me, my Motu Ultralite has been rock solid and so I have no reason to upgrade something far more expensive But given you need 8 pres If you are needing better relatively speaking preamps..

Delete it and your pro tools should open up again without hesitation. So after a while i figured out it was the cable. The solution? Don’t use that kind of cable. The only thing you can’t do is open up “hardware manager” directly within pro tools. You have to open it from “system preferences” on your imac. I hope this helped someone. If so, what brand? The very short summary of how to fix this: Run the Digi Uninstaller. It comes bundled with the installer. Then run the installer again. Restart your Mac. There should be a warning there about some files not loading with an “Allow” button.

Click Allow. But it should be pretty self explainatory. Depending on how old your computer is or when you are reading this my experience may not apply to you. In the current version of macOS, Apple has set it up to be more resistant to hacks and malware. The System one is supposed to be for Apple. Avid installs a kext in both places for some drivera. I wouldn’t muck around in these folders that way. Use the developer provided uninstaller. There is an invisible database prl that keeps track of which kexts are “white listed” to load on start up.

If you updated your version of macOS to High Sierra, all the kexts should be grandfathered in and you shouldn’t have to manually verify that you allow them to be loaded.
