I have looked into this further and you are correct. I talked with some of my friends who are graphic designers and typesetters and they agree with you, there is a huge issue opening previously created documents since the Creators Update.

I have posted to the QuarkXpress Forum informing them of this. They are normally very quick to fix issues like this I have dealt with them a lot in the past and will probably come out with a patch within the week. I reinstalled QX cleanly and still have the same problem. So I am sure there is a problem somewhere. I have been in contact with the QuarkXpress Team, they are advising not to install the Creators Upgrade until they figure out the issue, the issue is definitely on their end and they are currently trying to figure out what is going wrong and will write a patch as soon as possible.

DaveM Independent Advisor. Your best option is to re-install QuarkXpress afresh. I did this after updating to the Creators Upgrade and it is running with no issues under the new Update. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site.

Hi ValKal, please disregard my last answer – it does not work! Thank you DaveM Your last post is encouraging. QX is opening fine but none of the QXP files will open including work created last week.
