NATIVE INSTRUMENTS KOMPLETE 13 ULTIMATE SOFTWARE UPGRADE FROM K8 – K13

The NI Komplete 12 Ultimate upgrade is fantastic when you consider the price versus products you receive for the money. Just the 20 expansions (retail $49) or. These and other favorites, including Reaktor 6, Battery 4, the re-engineered Guitar Rig 6 Pro, return with a laundry list of upgrades, improvements, and. KONTAKT 6’s advanced sampling and REAKTOR 6’s flexible modular approach power thousands of innovative instruments and effects from NI, hundreds of leading.
Toybox modular software synthesiser blocks for Reaktor Player – Toy Box
Fairly quickly I was starting to put together some modest synths, with a bit of experimentation and reference to the example instruments. The factory library contains a good selection of Blocks divided into several categories: the Bento Box collection contains your essential oscillators, VCA, filter, envelope and LFO generators, mixer, etc. You then have Utility Blocks, and several more characterful modules in the Boutique, Modern and Monark folders, the last of which holds the essential components of the Monark Minimoog emulation in modular form.
Some effects Blocks have also been included, in the shape of the Reverb and Delay sections from Rounds, and the Driver filter and distortion processor. My first Blocks synth made from bits of Moog.
This arrangement has allowed NI to contrive this new system without fundamentally changing Reaktor. First, connections between Instruments are monophonic. A traditional Reaktor synth has all its component parts living within an Instrument, with the component modules and macros and their interconnections able to operate as multiple parallel voices.
The Blocks layer exists outside this polyphonic universe. So you can store different sounds that all share the same cabling, but to store a sound that employs different patching requires saving as a new Ensemble. While Blocks appears to bias this Reaktor update towards the casual user, instrument builders have not been entirely left out.
Like the instrument library, the developer library of modules, macros and operations has undergone a thorough spring cleaning.
Many Core macros have been optimised for better sound quality and performance. The collection of components known as Classic Modular, which was an earlier attempt to create a standardised group of building blocks for analog synth creation, has been dissolved into the main library.
Record Player Music Box and Xylophones are my personal favorites, including Xylophones, which I think have a lot of cooler sounds that are more conducive to creating melodies and other interesting soundscapes. The Reaktor 6 software suite is equally as interesting. Essentially, Reaktor 6 is a piece of software that allows you to create your own sounds. There are approximately 90 different soundscapes and pre-sets in this particular section. What I like thus far is the Suryia instrument and the Visions of the Emerald.
Essentially, Reaktor 6 is a software that allows you to create, edit, adjust, and mold your own synths, samples, sound designs, and other effects. Kontakt 6 is more of a player.
Komplete Kontrol, on the other hand, is kind of like a collection of all three. A collection of powerful monophonic and polyphonic synthesisers in ‘Blocks’ format. The synths feature versatile internal modulations and are designed to be integrated with the other packs for expanded modulation and effects routing.
The bundle includes a sophisticated PIANO ROLL block with extensive editing and modulation functions and a suite of polyphonic utility and modulation blocks to augment and expand the polyphonic functionalities of the synths. Note: there is no overlap between the Synth Bundle and the Blocks Bundle, all included blocks are exclusive to this bundle. The ultimate sound design tool with unparalleled flexibility and audio quality.
All the blocks you need to create a custom modular wavetable synthesiser suitable for huge basses or powerful EDM leads. With features not found on any other wavetable based synthesiser combined with flexible multi-breakpoint envelopes, state-of-the-art filters and effects, patched together in limitless configurations, the pack provides everything you need to put the freshest sounds at your fingertips.
Can be used without limitations with the free Reaktor Player. A collection of 44 essential modules, including 5 powerful sequencers and a suite of versatile oscillators, filters, effects and utilities. You could also try out knobcloud , a website that facilitates the buying and selling of plugin licenses. That means the vigilance I advised above still applies. I have not used knobcloud myself but it looks like an interesting concept, saving some effort to trawl through forums. You can always update to the latest version. The plugins included vary:.
We predict the next Native Instruments sales will be Black Friday , starting around 25 November To get notified of future discounts and sales, why not sign up to the musicmanta newsletter , and we let you know of future sales from Native Instruments.
Some retailers choose to sell Native Instruments plugins at a lower price than the Native Instruments shop. Here is what we found for Komplete 13 in our research:. In September , Plugin Boutique started to sell two special bundles of Native Instruments plugins. These bundles contain 3 synth plugins and one effect plugin each, assembled into two flavours, Classic and Future.
We cannot predict the future, but in recent years Native Instruments has always offered a sale, reliably around Black Friday in November every year. Just sign up to the musicmanta newsletter and we will let you know when the next sale is on. Yes, but only for Reaktor. Do you have a question not covered here, or found another way to buy Native Instruments plugins at a discount?

Forums Quick Links. Members Quick Links. NI Community Forum. Messages: Are Komplete customers expected to upgrade to Reaktor 6 and then have to purchase it again in the next Komplete upgrade? I can’t seem to find any information about how those of us who purchased Komplete are supposed to upgrade to Reaktor 6.
Messages: 19, Komplete customers are expected to act accoring to their own free will But seriously, if you’re a Komplete user, the most cost-effective course of action is updating at the next version of Komplete Also this is not a feature suggestion, so I moved it outside of that subforum. EvilDragon , Sep 10, Like x 1. I asked Pre-Sale support. This is their answer: ” There are always these 2 options at NI: 1. When a new product is released and you really need it for your production, you can order it right away.
Furthermore: 3. When buying the single update of a product now and then purchasing the new KOMPLETE bundle later, you can always unregister the formerly purchased single-update license and resell it on the 2nd hand market. To explain: All updates within a major version e. But we cannot say when it will be released, because we cannot look into the future.
I gather from this thread that NI doesn’t have an elegant solution for customers who want upgraded products right away and Reaktor 6 is an upgrade not a new product : hence, if we want upgrades right away, we have to purchase the product twice: once by itself and once with the bundle. NI should take a cue from Adobe and consider a subscription based system, while not perfect, is much better. It seems to me that Komplete is an equivalent of the Creative Cloud. Messages: 3, Like x 3.
Subscription models for software are awful. The present NI upgrade system is fine. Like x 5. All updates within a software-generation are free at NI!
So every update for Reaktor 5 from 5. Just for the record: that is 10 years of free updates! Can everybody please relax and stop whining? Wait, most of us are relaxed already and enjoying Blocks, right? Last edited: Sep 10, Henry Bliss , Sep 10, UltimateOutsider , Sep 10, So I’m not being cheap, I’m being sensible. But it is not the only perspective: K10 would give you 3 new Reaktor-instruments: Rounds, Polyplex and Kontour.
And I really love Kontour! If you are not interested in the 3 pianos and Drumlab – ok. Even though Drumlab is highly underrated imho. But hey, everybody’s got his own perspective. And regarding this and your 2nd last mail: you are judging K11 before it is even released. Who knows what Reaktor-based instruments are still to come until then?
It’s the bollox! Or wait for a K11 – and see if you are interested. Maybe NI should rethink the cheap bundle-politics. I think it is devalueing the included products so much that people lose the feel for the great stuff that’s included – and which would be much more expensive if purchased separately. Just a thought. A subscription model would be good, mmkay.
Or at least the option. I don’t know The last post made a good point, about rethinking the bundle, because it’s devaluing the individual items. Not that I want to pay more. But NI’s model seems so weird to me. Myself, I only really want a couple of the products Reaktor and Massive , and I’d pay for them individually, but then it would be as much or more than the bundle. I would buy a digital download version, but NI seems to think the technology to download something so large doesn’t exist, even though people have been downloading things that large for many years.
It’s good to own, so you don’t feel like you have to be connected all the time, etc this is what hurt Adobe I think , but something will have to change when a large part of the creative market no longer has access to DVD drives. Durden , Sep 10, Messages: 1, This is not hard. Each year you wait until the komplete bundle come out and then you save money. If you want to buy Reaktor 6 and not wait fine. Then buy it, but NI have been doing the same thing for years and years. If you been on komplete 4, 5 etc you know how it goes.
Durden : Hey, maybe you didn’t notice: even Komplete 10 Ultimate can be downloaded nowadays! Even if you order the hard drive. After the registration you can simply use the downloader from your account. Oh, you can even choose and only download and install what you want But when the next Komplete version released and you are upgrading to it then it would be nice to have the option that that separate license of this new synth is taken from your account and the amount of fee is subtracted from the new Komplete update price.
I bought Komplete 10 Ultimate less than 3 weeks ago, and was sorely disappointed to get that canned response stating their distorted reason for not offering a upgrade. The logic only benefits NI. I’m a big boy and will suck it up, but it doesn’t mean I have to like it. On the flip-side no company can make everyone happy with a “grace” period, but I thought I had a shot being a 3-week old customer. Rant over lol.
HoosierGuy , Sep 11, Messages: 10, There is no ‘grace period’, because if you bought K10U today it would still only have Reaktor 5 in it. I know that That was the point of my previous post.
